This privacy policy (statement) covers all websites that are registered to Light the Fire Ministries. It is the desire of Light the Fire Ministries to demonstrate our commitment to our users’ privacy; therefore we have agreed to disclose our information practices.

Information Collection and Use

Information Collection

Light the Fire Ministries is the sole owner of the information collected on any Web site that is registered in its name. Light the Fire Ministries collects information from our users at several different points on our Web site.

Light the Fire Ministries Product Order Form

We request information from the user on our order form. A user must provide contact information (such as name, email, and shipping address). This information is used for billing purposes and to ship customers' orders. If we have trouble processing an order, the information is used to contact the user.

Light the Fire Ministries email contact

We request information from the user on various email contact forms. This is restricted to contact details and is used to communicate with the user in regards with his/her query(ies) or requested information; or adding a user to our mailing list, if so requested.

Light the Fire Ministries Guest book

We do request the name and email address when submitting an entry for posting on our Guest book. This is purely for purposes of authentication of the submitted post. We draw the attention of the user to the fact that the name and email address submitted with any post if approved, will be reflected on the site. We therefore suggest that any user who does not want their email address to be shown indicates this by ticking the appropriate box that says “Hide my email address”. 

Information Use

We do not currently store any information that we collect on any product orders, email contact forms or Guest book entries through cookies, log files, clear gifs, and/or third parties for any reason whatsoever. The only exception to this is in the case where the user indicated their desire to subscribe to our mailing list or to be informed of any changes to the information on our site. This profile is used to communicate with the user and your profile will NEVER BE SHARED with any third parties, without your express permission.

Communications from the Site

Information Updates

If so requested we do send users an update regarding any changes of information on our Web site. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please email us on inform@ltfm.co.za to request delisting from any such communication.

Light the Fire Ministries Newsletter

If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and email address.  Out of respect for our users privacy we provide a way to opt-out of these communications, by sending us an email on inform@ltfm.co.za requesting to be delisted from our mailing list.

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.

We currently make use of the services of AddThis (www.addthis.com) for the purposes of social bookmarking and sharing services offered on our site, e.g. “facebook”, “Twitter”, “email a friend” buttons etc.

We allow AddThis, to collect certain anonymous information when you visit our website. They may use non-personally identifiable information during your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services likely to be of greater interest to you. Please note that this only applies if you use any of the social bookmarking services provided on our site in order to tell others about us. We DO NOT share any personal information with AddThis, other than what they collect in terms of the above.

Choice/Opt-out

Our users are given the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for information.  For example, our email contact forms has an ‘opt-out’ mechanism so users who communicate with us, but don’t want to subscribe to our mailing list, can keep their email address off of our lists.

Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional or other communications may opt-out of receiving these communications by submitting such a request to inform@ltfm.co.za

This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that Light the Fire Ministries is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.

Correcting/Updating/Deleting/Deactivating Personal Information

If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as zip code, phone, email or postal address), or if a user no longer desires our service, we provide a way to correct, update or delete/deactivate users’ personally identifiable information. This can be done by the user transmitting such changes to us at inform@ltfm.co.za.

Notification of Changes

If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.  We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected. 

If, however, we are going to use users’ personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection we will notify users via email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner.  However, if users have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their listing, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner. In addition, if we make any material changes in our privacy practices that do not affect user information already stored in our database, we will post a prominent notice on our Web site notifying users of the change. In some cases where we post a notice we will also email users, who have opted to receive communications from us, notifying them of the changes in our privacy practices.

E-commerce

PayPal Services

Please be aware that we are currently making use of Paypal Services in respect of online payments and donations. As such PayPal does collect and store certain personal information for the purposes of verification and online processing of payments. We do not share any personal information with PayPal and are not responsible for PayPal’s use of information which they collect from visitors to our site, who uses their services. Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. For instance, by setting a cookie on our site, the user would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback to this is that the user will be limited in some areas of our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site.

Log Files

We use IP addresses to analyse trends, administer the site, track user’s movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Surveys & Contests

From time-to-time our site requests information from users via surveys or promotions. Participation in these surveys or promotions is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information. Information requested may include contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level). Contact information will be used to notify subscribers. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the use and satisfaction of this site.

Security

This website takes every precaution to protect our users’ information. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line.

While we use our best efforts to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to your information. Furthermore, ALL employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices.

Special Offers

We send all new members a welcoming email to verify password and username. Established members will occasionally receive information on products, services, special deals, and a newsletter. Out of respect for the privacy of our users we present the option to not receive these types of communications. Please see our choice and opt-out below.

Site and Service Updates

We also send the user site and service announcement updates. Members are not able to un-subscribe from service announcements, which contain important information about the service. We communicate with the user to provide requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account via email or phone.
